This concert celebrates the music of Leonard Bernstein and George Gershwin, two giants of 20th century American culture. Their pioneering approach to combining elements of classical music with jazz-influenced effects have produced some of the most memorable works of the era.

The German/New Zealand Pianist Michael Endres has been described by Richard Dyer of the Boston Globe as, "…one of the most interesting pianists recording today " .
